Birthday dinner!!! Happy birthday! Headed to school!!!

Well... I have started nursing school!! YAY!!! Not going to be easy but it will be so worth it! I am attending Ameritech in Draper where the program is highly successful! I will be finished August 2013 with RN, ADN. I am so darn excited.. As for Richard and Jackson life with them remain busy. Jackson turned 12 today.. I simply cannot believe it!!! He is such a good boy.. He is playing basketball here in Nephi and doing so well... Last night in all the excitment he tried to make a basket on the opposing teams side...ooooopss.. so funny though!! He is a good sport and shows good sportsmanship which is what I will forever attempt to instill into him! Richard is working days as a Sgt in housing and doing well... He rides his motorcycle often with a good friend so that is great.. he crashes sometimes often which scares me horribly... We are still loving Nephi... So glad we are here... My family seems to be doing well... Jessica's boys are growing so fast.. attached are some pics... I will update as often as I can.. RN school is going to be busy but exciting and just what we need!!!

Hi.. so it has been awhile.. I used to post everyday.. I hate that I have slacked... so we went to disneyland in october.. it was so fun.. we hit hunington beach a couple of times, knotts berry farm and disneyland. We love it! Jackson is doing good.. enjoyed football.. richard is still working like crazy! I work at IMC ED now as a pysch tech and love it.. life is good and we are still loving nephi... I will catch up more later..

What a fun summer... It has been so busy though.. Jackson and I had our pictures taken for fathers day by the incredible Janell Bradford.. Our dog had 9 puppies.. one died.. we have given 7 of them away and keeping one.. Jackson played baseball and now is doing football.. I played softball during the summer and had a blast!! Richard is going to days at the prison which is nice.. I am still working for Gold cross..and EJA.. I am the co-training officer for East Juab.. love it.. Life is good.. busy but good.

Friday January 7, 2011 Tiffany passed away.. I cannot describe the pain I have felt since learning about this.. I have been so heart broken.. Poor Josh called me Saturday morning and told me the dreaded news.. I had just talked to Tiffany friday night on facebook.. awe I would give anything ANYTHING to have just one more conversation with her!!! Well.. a little bit about my dear sweet friend... She and I met while working together at UVRMC on the cardiovascular floor.. we were friends instantly.. we would laugh together, cry together.. but it was fun to work together.. I would go home with her on my 3 day on and stay at her house with her cute family.. Oh how kind they were to me!!! We continued to be friends on from there.. they would come down to Jackson's birthday parties and we got together quite a bit.. oh it was fun.. After I quit UVRMC Tiffany continued working there.. she then took a job with the Health department.. she was the director of nursing.. I was so proud of her!!! She had worked so hard and was a terrific nurse.. She continued her education and earned her masters in nursing in 2010.. I will never forget the day she called and told me "I am now.. Tiffany Cox, RN MSN" It was such a huge accomplishment!!! Tiffany was currently teaching at UVU.. I will miss her.. she taught me so much.. She had a cute cute cute personality.. wonderful smile.. there was nothing about Tiffany that I did not love.. She has 2 cute kids.. Toshany and McCade.. I will never forget when Toshany came to stay with us.. awe what a sweet sweet girl.. and McCade.. when Tiff told me she was pregnant.. oh we both were so thrilled.. Tiffany also married a great man.. Josh is a fantastic person.. he was so good to her.. Tiffany I talked weekly and sometimes daily.. and never short conversations either.. she knew everything about me as I did about her.. I am so sad.. I am going to miss her so much.. I already miss her!!

Holy cow.. I am so sluggish at blogging.. Well where do I start... We love our new house.. It is so nice and big.. It makes us so happy :) Jackson had a bit of a run in with the law so needless to say he is now attending C.S. Lewis academy.. he is doing so good there though... As for me.. I am still LOVING my job with Gold Cross Ambulance... it is so nice!!! I love my station family!! I work at GC station 2.. I work with a bunch of terrific people.. my partner is great.. yep I am lucky!!! I still LOVE EJA too.. they treat me like gold! Richard is still on graveyards at the Prison.. He is a sergeant.. He is awesome too!!! All is well with our little family.. I saw the cardiologist two weeks ago and got a great report.. who could complain! Anyway life is busy as usual.. We are working hard to get out of debt.. Thanks to NB who put us on a do able budget!! He is a huge life saver!! I am so thankful for him!!! Well so much for now..I have pics I will get on here soon!!

YAY...We moved...we are so excited!! I will post pix later... SO yep.. LIFE IS GOOD!!! We are now in a huge house compared to what we have been!! Anyway jobs are going great!! I have quit the movie theater.. Rich is cutting back on police work and we are just spending time together being a happy family.. I still love love love my job in SLC.. it is so fun.. I enjoy every minute of it!! Jackson is doing well.. have had some speed bumps but we are working through things.. At any rate.. more to come later :)

So... I love my new job.. it is so good.. Yesterday we spent the day with my folks at the Hobble Creek Car show.. it was so fun!! They took their chevelle.. it was nice.. we got down poured on but it was fun.. my cuz Annette went and it was fun to hang around with her again.. We got to thursday.. he loves it.. which I am so glad.. anyway.. we had family pics saturday and then we went to mayfield and hung out with my sis.. love her and the boys.. well I am at work today.. gotta jet

Wow.. so I am a major slacker!!!! So things are busy!! Richard is a sergeant again!! YAY!! I am so proud of him!!! Jackson is still growing like a weed.. Crazy!! I am now working full time for Gold Cross Ambulance.. I LOVE IT!!!! I work with such good people!! Still working at nephi ambulance.. and I really really love it!! I sure work with good people there too.. oh and I wirl at Salt Creek Cinemas.. busy busy busy.. I really love it to.. and of course the people there are great too!! I honestly love going to work.. crazy!!! Richard and Jackson went camping last week and had a blast!!! I am hoping to get something fun in before school starts..anyway.. that is us in a nutshell.. I hope to keep up on my blog more

WOW!! Seriously time flies!! It was a year on Wednesday since my wreck!!! I JUST CANT BELIEVE IT!!! So I celebrated by ringing in the 30th with my sis in law at Eclipse... I had a blast... So June 30, 2009 will never ever be forgotten... what has happened in a year??? My heart is on the mends.. well nearly normal.. My ejection fracture is 59% which is great!!! I cant even believe what my sweet family has been through!!! lets see... so I was in the hospital for a week.. not to bad considering.. I had to have the lead replaced in my pacemaker september 1... no biggie.. lost my job with gunnison ambulance.. I thought the world had stopped but nope.. I started my new job with Juab County Ambulance and I LOVE IT!! I have not been this happy with EMS for a long long long time!! There is a true sisterhood/brotherhood here that I have never ever felt before!!! We moved to Nephi.. huge step for us.. but it has been perfect!!Richard got a motorcycle.. yikes... Nephi is treating us so good!!! Richard got a promotion which makes me so proud.. Jessica had a baby who is clear perfect!! Christian turned 7 cant believe how cute and fun he is!!! Lets see... what else... It has been an amazing growing experience for me and my family... My heart stopping could of been the worst thing in the world but it seemed to pull us together.. I sure do love my family!!! That is about all I guess... The year went by super fast..

So as most of you know we moved to Nephi...well with fuel at $3 a gallon it is a bit expensive for Richard to drive 5 days a week!! sssssoooooooooooooo...... he bought a Honda motorcycle.. LOL.. it is a street legal dirt bike.. yep he drives it to and from Nephi.. I am a wreck worrying about him!!

So I had the absolute best Monday yesterday!!! Parley got to come spend the day with me and it was so fun!!! I wore him clear out by laying outside looking at the sky, playing on the porch watching the kitties, laying on the floor rollin over, cuddling... yep I played with him all day!! I had a hard time letting him take a 20 minute little power nap cuz I just wanted to hold him!!!! He is so cute!! I wore his little cheekers out by kissing them.. Jess said they were so red cuz I had kissed kissed kissed them :) but he is so perfect!!! I love her boys!! I miss the time that christian just wanted to hang out with me.. now he is a busy body and I nearly have to capture him to kiss him.. but he is perfect too.. Anyway BEST MONDAY EVER!!!

Okay so June 9, 2010 I was in SLC for an exercise that the Pediatric strike team participated in.. and guess who I met?? RON DELPINO!! I know you probably wondering WTH!?! Well let me tell you.. he was the flight RN and the day I crashed!! He is the one that made the turning point in me being here!!!!! I will never ever ever forget what he did for me!! I can not be more thankful!! I am so grateful for all who helped me that day!! I just thought this was stinkin cool!!

Happy Fathers day to the BEST dad anybody could have!!! I am so lucky to have him in my lfe.. but most of all to be MY DAD!!! I love him so much!! He is a hard worker and a great provider!! As a kid I remember hanging out with him and learning so much from him!! I only wish I could sit on his lap and tell him whats wrong like I used too.. He is an example to all.. Holy Moley!! It is June and that is nearly over!! I just can't believe all that has happened in one year!!! A year ago my sis and I was at odds :( that is one of the worst things in the whole world!! I love her clear to pieces and hate it when we dont get along.. A year ago my mom became unemployed.. that was a hard hard hard time for her!! A year ago I dont know how I ever functioned!! EVER!! A year ago life was just passing by me.. I did not seem to care either.. Unreal how much has happened and things have changed!! All I know is that I am so lucky to have a great man in my life that loves me and I love him so much!! I am lucky for Jackson.. I could not ask for a cuter kid.. He is the greatest thing to ever ever EVER happen to me!! I love him.. and I am so greatful for my family... My family has been through HELL and I dont know how they maintained up right!! I love em!!! I have started a new job at Salt Creek Cinemas.. I LOVE IT!!! I work with the most fun people!!! I love it!! Richard is still plugging away at CUCF.. Jackson is loving summer and all the time outside he can get!!! Life is still good and I thank god every day that I am alive!!

Wow it is so windy outside.. I just can't believe how windy it is.. and it is nearly April.. CRAZY!!! We are so loving nephi though.. it has been a great change! Jackson is adjusting well..Life has been crazy busy lately.. Richard has started with the fire department which I am so proud of him for doing it!! I know he is going to enjoy it!!! It will be fun to be on scene with him!! Well lets hope spring is just around the corner!

Are you kidding me?? MARCH ALREADY!!! What is going on?? Wowzers.. anyway I just cant believe it is March.. This year is already flying by.. my sweet little nephew is one month old.. I just cant believe it!!! We are loving Nephi.. It has been such a refreshing move.. we are thankful for our family and friends.. Lets see.. Friday my dogs got out.. Chevy got hit, Oakley did not get hit and Cheyenne got hit.. Chevy is home and doing well.. stiff but well.. Oakley is well.. However Jackson's sweet Cheyenne had a fractured dislocated hip :( she had to go home with a rescuer.. to sad.. but she is in great hands.. Otherwise all else is going great!!

So we took the big dive and moved to Nephi.. So far we are absolutely loving it!! It has been so refreshing.. Richard is still working at the prison in Gunnison and for the police departments down there... I am loving my job with the ambulance here.. there is an amazing bunch of people that I work with whom I love very much!! They have become my second family!!! I have made great friends and love them.. Jackson has started school up here and he loves it.. he is enjoying his class and his teacher.. Richard is going to be a fireman up here and that is sure exciting!!! I am teaching a basic class and love teaching!!! Our home is cute.. we love it.. last year was clear chaotic and we are glad 2010 has had such happiness for us!!!

Okay so this is so exciting!! I GOT A NEW NEPHEW!!! He is so dang sweet and so little.. I love him so much!! He is a doll!! And he has an awesome big brother!!! So.. Jessica had Parley Oras Hansen on Tuesday February 2nd... He weighed in at 6 lbs.. and was 20 inches long.. has cute light brown hair and looks just like Christian..but every now and then I can see Jessica in him.. Jason and Jessica have such adorable kids.. Needless to say Aunt Quackie couldnt be prouder!!!

Well here is a slight update... I am working in Nephi and love it!! Richard is still doing his thing at the prison and Jackson is just growing like a weed!! I am Coordinating an EMT Basic class in Nephi and it is going to be perfect.. I hang out as often as I can with Amy.. she is great.. My mom and I continue to get close which is great.. I love love love my mom!!! She is my best friend!!! Jessica is getting close to having her baby and I am so thrilled!! I just cant wait to meet him!!! Christian is still the sweet sweet boy he always has been.. he too is growing just way to fast!!! It is sure cold.. I am getting ready for spring.. The doctor appointments a week ago went great.. I dont see the heart failure doc till next year and the cardiologist in July.. I get my pacemaker checked in April.. Life is great!!

Wow.. I cannot believe it is December 30th all ready!!! The time has just flown.. I for one am thrilled to kiss this crazy year goodbye and get ready for a new year!! It has been snowing like crazy lately and we have taken to sledding.. It is so much fun!!! My bestie and her family has been a couple of times and well last night we went out by Gunnison res and sledding for hours.. it was a blast.. I stayed in the truck last night cuz I have been sick.. but gosh it is fun!!!

So today is my 31st birthday which is crazy!!! Last night Mike, Amy, Andy, Jennie, Richard and kids threw me a surprise birthday party.. I have never ever had a surprise party before so it was so fun!! I love them all... we have pizza and salads and my WAMBULANCE CAKE!!! the lapierres made me that cute cute cake! they are great...now we are heading to Provo for some serious fun...possibly dancing but fo sho dinner!! WOOT WOOT!!!

Okay so again I have become so busy with Facebook that I have neglected my blog!!!HOLY COW!! So lets see.. I am now running with East Juab Ambulance which I totally love..the people in Nephi are great and it is so refreshing!!! I also have a new best friend AMY LAPIERRE whom I love and adore... She is an amazing person and such a good friend and mom!! I love her and her sweet family.. her children are so adorable and I love them...Mike her hubby is great and he and Richard have become good friends... I love em.. My little sister is having a baby and I just cant wait until February.. I am so excited...Christian will make such a great big brother..he is such a thoughtful and sweet boy.. I love him dearly.. Jackson is growing like a weed and getting so darn big!! He is 5 foot tall I cant even believe it.. My sweet boy and husband have been through hell this year and they have stepped up and made sure that I am totally taken care of.. I love them so much.. My folks are good.. my dad is just a truckin fool and started to love Nascar LOL.. my sweet mom is great.. enjoying her time home... Richard is wonderful.. he is still working his guts out like none other.... My family and my in laws are so great.. they have blessed us so much and make sure that we are all right.. I am such a lucky girl!! and just thrilled to have a second chance at things!!

Wow! Time flies to fast! I have really been a slacker at updating this blog! I have started a new job.. I am now running with East Juab Ambulance and I love it! I am also helping with an EMT Intermediate class as the co-course coordinator.. Richard is busy as ever with the prison and the police work for the cities and Jackson is in fourth grade and groing to fast. We have 2 kittens now.. one is 2 1/2 mths old and one is not very old at all.. so it is fun.. I spend alot of time with my mom. We do alot. I have been making alot of trips to SLC to the U of U. But yesterday I got a clean bill of health which was so fantastic to hear after everything! Well that is a quick update.. all is well!

Okay so I have missed updating my blog.. I was in a wreck on June 30.. My heart stopped due to Tersades La Pointes.. a crazy rhythm then caused my car to travel across 3 lanes of traffic and hit the cemet barriers several times..I received between 15-20 minutes of CPR then flown to the University of Utah.. I was shocked several times, had 2 chest tubes, central line, temporary pacemaker, lots of IVs and drugs.. I also now have an Internal Cardiac Defibrillator PACEMAKER. I was only in the hospital for 8 days.. I am home, feeling great.. My car is totalled which sucks. I am so glad to be here.. and be alive.. I did not have any broken bones..I now see several doctors.. and actually just very very blessed. I have attached some photos..

I bought Jackson some 3D sidewalk chalk and looky how much fun they are having.. and it really really works good.. we soon realized that you can use any sidewalk chalk and look through 3D glasses and wallah... here is Richard showing Jackson fun new designs.. this has been such a fun little thing for us.. and only $4.00 at walmart.. wahoooo!

So I remember when I would blog as much as possible and as often as possible and then I lost my drive after all those funerals.. well I have a new passion (relit) and for a little bit I felt like I was cheating on my blog cuz I have spent so much time doing this other that I have not even checked to make sure my blog still worked.. yikes.. well here is the culprit.. I know it looks a bit cluttered and it may be only because I have a couple of projects I am working on.. like beaded watch bands.. I will put pictures up in a bit, and I have scrapbook stuff out to make a thank you card and I have Jackson's box open to look at one of his scrapbooks.. well........that's right I GOT MY ROOM BACK!!!!!!!! It had become a disaster.. someone had taken over and I won't say who.. but it wasn't Jackson lol.. anyway I have even spent all night in here scrapbooking and making cards and even watchbands.. I have all my stuff within reach and love it.. I even have my cricut at my fingertips.. now it was not easy getting my side back but I did it.. I think I may have gotten a tad bit more than Richard but I was here first :).. it has been fun to come in here and work and him come in and load bullets... it is fun to hang out together.. so anyway there it is.. :)

Litterally wow... where did all the time go??? I have been so busy with work, funerals, Richard, funerals, Jackson, funerals that I have neglected my blog.. so here ya go.. March was busy for us. Started out with Grandma Ginnys funeral which was absolutely beautiful and very peaceful and then back to work for us.. Jackson has been playing soccer on the weekends and karate during the week.. I am still working at the Hampton Inn in Richfield and running on the ambulance.. Richard is still working at the prison, gunnison pd and now Centerfield pd YAY!!! I am so glad we now have a real police department in Centerfield.. aside from that it is spring and so I am so dang glad.. I swear Jackson has grown a foot since Christmas.. anyway that is a way short catch up.. more to come.. :)

St. George, UT - Virginia Dixon Schugk, age 86, passed away on February 27, 2009 at home in St. George, Utah. She was born June 4, 1922 in Provo, Utah to Charles Owen and Virginia Elizabeth Beckstead Dixon and married Percy John Schugk in the Salt Lake Temple on February 14, 1947. Virginia was raised in Provo and lived most of her adult life in Taylorsville. She was very patriotic and served her country as a member of the WACS in Italy during WWII. She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding many positions, including Relief Society President and Young Women’s President. She served as a Seminary Teacher, Temple Worker and Missionary in the Chili Concepcion Mission with her beloved husband, Percy. An avid genealogist and researcher, Virginia traveled the British Isles searching out her ancestors she loved so much. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, serving as Captain of the English Fort in Taylorsville, Utah and secretary to Kate B. Carter of the Central Company. Virginia served on the Endowment Committee of the Festival of Trees for the Primary Children’s Medical Center. Her creative touch added beauty to all around her. She enjoyed flower gardens, crafts, decorating and showing love to family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy John Schugk. Survivors include son, Dennis C. Schugk (Beverly); daughters, Suzette Bowles (Brent), Nancy Mendenhall (Ronnie), Judy Schugk and Sonjia Schugk. She has 29 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 7, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at the Parliament Park Ward Chapel, 1510 W. Parliament Ave. (3940 S.), West Valley City, Utah. Visitation will be Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 10:00 a.m., at the chapel, prior to services. Interment will be in Redwood Memorial Estates Cemetery, 6500 S. Redwood Rd., West Jordan, Utah. Tyson J. �Ty� Whitaker, 20, of Centerfield, Utah, passed away February 19, 2009 from injuries sustained in an auto accident.
Ty was born October 12, 1988 in Gunnison, Utah. He was an avid motorcycle rider. He also enjoyed snowboarding, the mountains and Lake Powell. He enjoyed working with his hands creating projects in iron, wood and leather.
His surviving family members include his parents, Michelle Hansen of Centerfield, Bobby and Corina Whitaker of Mayfield; brothers, Tristen, Jayden and Javen Danner of Centerfield; grandparents, Lee and JoAnn Anderson of Gunnison, Edwin and Bonnie Whitaker of Mayfield and John Jacobson of Salina. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 23, 2009 at 12:00 Noon in the Centerfield 1st LDS Ward Chapel, where friends and family may call from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday. At Kristy's viewing Jackson was so cute in his new suit we bought him.. and we was trying to not get it dirty, stay busy and out of the way.. well about half way through I was wore out and went to sit down out front.. Jackson came over and said
"mom when you were a kid did you have walmart" so I told him how it used to be super small here and no Walmart here didn't come in till he was born and we had Kmart and payless and that was all we needed.. then he said "mom did you have phones when you were a kid" and I told him we always had a house phone but cell phones did not come out till my freshman year.. he said "what was that like 1950s???" he was serious.. I said what year is it.. and how old is your dad?? he is was older than me go pick on him.. lol.. what a kid....he says some of the funniest things.. and is serious when he says them..

Okay so Richard got a new phone in November and Jackson got his old phone to just have.. we barely activated it...we told him though to take pictures, record songs whatever he wanted.. just don't lose it..he packed that phone everywhere we went.. he always had it.. anyway when I activated the phone I was a bit curious as to what he has done with it.. so I listened to the sounds...wow.. he had recorded things from the TV like Zack and Cody, music, and just funny sounds, then I watched the videos and there were some really funny videos of him, the dogs and Christian.. but there was one that totally took the cake.. as I was watching it I was thinking it was pretty lame but then all of a sudden he dropped it on the mattress and began screaming and tossing the phone.. it was hilarious.. then I looked through the pictures and found some stinkin cute pictures that he had taken.. I added 2 of them.. but the little smarty takes great pictures.. so if you ever want to do something to entertain your kids.. give them an old cell phone or a camera..

Jackson's Valentines..

YAY!!! Thanks to the help of my sister in law Misty and http://www.familyfun.com/ I have finished Jackson's Valentines. They were super simple and went way fast and I am dang glad they are finished. The big box is out of a cereal box that I just covered and made look like an iPod. Jackson is way happy and I am glad they are finished. The little iPods are sweethearts that I rolled with card stock then used the http://www.familyfun.com/ to print off the wheel and screen. I usually wait to the last minute to do Valentines so I am way glad to be done.

So my dad loves to shoot guns, he is a very good shoot and well he has quite the collection.. Richard built him a beautiful 28 gun cabinet and he then filled it... anyways Sunday he called and wanted to go shooting so he came up and got Jackson, Richard then went and got Jason and Christian and headed to Mayfield for a clay pigeon shoot out.. I am sure they had a blast, the big boys are all very great shooters.. when Richard went to LEO (police academy) he won the shooting award.. I am so proud .. anyways after it was all done, Jackson wanted to shoot the shot gun. I am not sure who helped him, but he shot it and was so proud that he had. I was home sound to sleep as I had worked 16 hours the day before.. but when they got home Richard came in and woke me up and said "don't freak out" okay don't ever ever tell a mother that when you had her 9 year old out shooting guns.. I immediately thought someone got shot.. anyway he said the hammer kissed Jackson's eye... I said what the heck does that mean.. at that point Jackson came in and had a big old sore under his eye.. :( I was so upset and didn't know quite what was going on.. Richard said "It will probably go black" okay.. great thing no school Monday... thankfully it never went black.. my cute dad called about 20 minutes later and asked if I was okay.. he was so worried about me then he asked me if it had turned black and then he said..to make it all better "I will just have to buy him a 22 or something smaller.." perfect.. anyway since then Jackson has ran to the mirror every few minutes to see if it is bruised.... I just told him if it bruised I would just put makeup on it and then nobody will ever know hehehe.. what a day, what a kid.

So we bought Monopoly Sunday and we played till 2 in the morning.. I have decided that the boys in the house are way stubborn about trading...so in Monopoly the boys ruled but mom kicked their behinds yay!!! anyway we opted to buy the one with the electronic bank, so much better than the old one.. anyway we played 2 games yesterday and it took the whole day.. oh my.. we had so much fun, neither of them had school/work so that is how we spent the day, in our PJ's on the front room floor playing Monopoly..

So yesterday we took 9 kids and went sledding out by gunnison res.. one of Richard's friends brought his son and we all had a blast.. and nobody got hurt yay!!! We met at my house at 1000 and played till 1400... we roasted hot dogs and drank hot chocolate.. it was a blast.. Jackson made a haul on gifts so all in all it was great.. Jackson said it was the best birthday he ever had....check out the pix and video.. the video is of Richard and mark on the orange toboggan it is crazy.. the kids could get it to go across the road.. wow.. turn up the volume for the video.. it is hilarious what Richard says: "we are going to die.. we are going to die".. hahahaha..

I can't even believe Jackson is turning 9. just today he said, "I will be half way to 18" yikes...I am a total boob about it too. He was born January 11, 2000 at Gunnison Hospital, Jackson was 5 weeks early and weighed in at 6lbs6oz.. and 19 inches long. He was life flighted by ground to Utah Valley where he spent the first two nights with his dad and my mom as I was stuck at the hospital after birth I got sick.. Jackson had an ET tube for 4 days and the gavage for 8 days. 10 days later we left UVRMC with our very own 5 lb bundle of joy. Jackson has been though a ton in his 9 years... He was attacked by 2 German shepherds, got his tonsils out and had complications after, has lymphadema, been in the hospital several times.. watched his mom have 2 brain tumors, lost a st. Bernard to poison.. lost 3 great grandparents and 1 grandma. Jackson is a great kid, very smart and so cute. He is the light of my life and I have no idea what I would ever do without him.... Tomorrow we are going sledding for his birthday party.. I love Jackson a ton.

Wow, I cant even believe that it is 2009 already.. wow.. well where do I start???

Lets see:
January: Jackson got baptized yay! Gordon Hinckley died :( January was a pretty busy month for us, Jackson turned 8 and it was the beginning of a new year. Richard and Jackson both hospitalized with Influenza..

February: Work, work, work. I got laid off from ACT.Valentines. Chevy turns 1.. Nothing real big.

March: I made the Utah Pediatric Strike Team and became an Emergency Medical Services for Children Coordinator.. it is a huge honor.

April: Car shows began..yay!! We had a lot of fun doing car shows with my parents...

May: Schools out.. Beginning of summer.. I attended UAEMT conference in St. George.. it is always fun.. We went to mesquite while down south and I won a couple hundred dollars on penny slots lol.. 5 years from first brain tumor :)

June: busy, Richard went to Colorado to help David and Britta move back. I was teaching alot of CPR classes, going to college to finish a prereq, got into nursing school but had to pass due to Jackson being in the hospital for a week and it messed up my last prereq.. June 28: Jackson is admitted to Primary Children's with Lymphadema.. poor kid, lots and lots of tests.. 1 week later we got to go home. My mom turned 50..

July: Town celebrates the fourth, it was fun. Lymphadema not getting better, left thigh 10 inches in diameter bigger than right thigh.. at least he was in high spirits.. we went swimming a ton. Jackson played with the neighbors alot..

August: Still struggling with Lymphadema. Olympics...I don't think I ever watched so much sports ever..I loved the Olympics... especially Michael Phelps.. Getting ready for school.. still car showing.. so fun. We love hanging out with my dad and mom. School started.

September: I attended a retreat in Moab for EMSC. It was awesome, done a river raft and had a blast. Jackson back to Primaries. And to the Cardiologist.. I had an MRI. Thyroid ultrasound and ENT visit... Turns out I have nerve damage in my voice box. we had our 11Th anniversary..

October: Jackson to Huntsman's for tests and treatments at the Lymphadema clinic. We found out he will have lymphadema for ever... I was totally upset. End of car show season :( excited for next year.. we attended about 10 car shows.. wow. Jackson went as guitar hero for Halloween..it was fun. School bus accident on Gunnison hill..everyone survive thank goodness..

November: Richards old companion got remarried in Price, we got to go and hang out with them.. it was a blast!!! I TURNED 30! wow.. thanks to Richard for taking me to Mesquite for my birthday... it was a huge blast.. I enjoyed spending time with him. My mom, Jessica and I went to black Friday.. yikes..

December: Christmas..my favorite time of year.. We had a great Christmas.. we had a great time at my parents... Jackson loved his gifts and Santa dropped alot here.. Richard had his birthday on the 13Th it was a great day..

So 2008 was a great year, really busy but enjoyful..we done alot, we learned alot and came out in the end more in love, very happy and ready to take on 2009..

Wow.. I can't believe that Christmas is over... We had a great day, spend the morning here at our house watching Jackson with all his new toys and clothes. Richard and Jackson gave me shirts, perfume, chocolate, gloves and a scarf.. way nice.. I love them.. I got Richard a hoody, socks and cologne he spoiled me.. Jackson got a lot of nice stuff.. Then we went to my parents for lunch and hung out there all day.. it was nice.. Jason, Jessica and christian was there so it was a ton of fun.. Jason and Jessica and family had a bad Christmas eve, the guys that was killed in the avalanche Christmas eve was Jason's new nephew in law..he was married to Jason's niece Casey..we are so sorry for them and their family... they have had several things that have happened on Christmas Eve to make Christmas a nightmare.. our prayers are with them... my mom and dad got Jackson and Christian a ton of stuff.. a lot of clothes which Jackson needed.. Christian got a photo key chain.. oh my gosh it was a pain to put pictures on.. I finally got it done today.. and an mp3 which was simple to put songs on.. he is a doll... I love him a ton..
Richard and Jackson put my tree up Monday.. thanks guys.. I have been busy and out of the spirit for Christmas this year and now I am sad it is over.. anyway check out the pictures I have put on a slide..all from yesterday...hopefully everyone had a great day!

wow. I have been so busy this last 2 weeks.... Jackson had walking pneumonia last week so thank goodness Richard had the week off! I started a new job last Tuesday at Hampton Inn and I love it. So here is my quick week in review... I worked everyday last week and then Friday night we had my EMT party, Saturday we had Richard's transportation party, Sunday we had Richard's family party.. so we were totally partied out. Saturday night we all went and saw the day the earth stood still...wow.. I loved it.. but I like Keanu Reeves so I was going to like it no matter what.. the party for his family was at his dads house.. it was so nice.. it was the first time all the Schugk's were together at once since Richards mom's funeral.. so it was great.. I just can't believe I did not blog for a week.. sorry... I love blogging so it was bad..
I am so glad Christmas is tomorrow Jackson has been really good this week especially this week.. but he is really really excited.. we will be here tonight and my moms tomorrow.

Today is Richards 33rd birthday. Happy Birthday. He and his twin were born 5 minutes apart. Richard is a great guy. He is very loving, genuine and caring. He is a sweetheart to me and a roll model to Jackson. I love Richard so much...I made breakfast then went right to work on his cake... holy cow it turned out huge, but really really good. He is a big teaser, very funny and a hard worker.. in fact he went to work already this morning roofing.. Happy Birthday Richard! I am lucky to have found him.

My really big birthday.. it came and passed without incident.. my mom, Jessica, Jackson and I got up at 0400 and headed to the black Friday shopping in Richfield.. it was fun... we got some good deals.. TVs, games etc.. it was fun to spend time with them..we shopped at Walmart and Kmart then went to breakfast at Mcdonalds...it was really fun... After that we headed home and Jackson & I took a nap. Then I got our bags packed.. Jackson was heading to my parents and Richard & I was heading to MESQUITE!!!! Jackson had a blast with my parents.. they took him to the light parade in Manti... he enjoyed every minute of staying with them.. he loves their house and loves them.
Richard and I had a blast in Mesquite.. we had a nice room at the Oasis across the street from the casino.. it was a blast.. we spent several hours playing penny slots...hehehehe.. we actually won about $70 and then went and spent it on clothes....but it was fun.... then Saturday 11/29 we went and saw "Four Christmases" it was so funny...a total must see for the holiday season..
Then Sunday we headed home and took our time.. it was so nice to get away and so warm.. I did not pack shorts or capris and I so should have but it was so nice... we ate good and really enjoyed our little preholiday getaway.. it really put it into perspective what I am so thankful for and all the simple things in life..

Today I got thinking about tomorrow and wondered how I would hold my self together enough to tell my family what I am so very thankful for ... so I thought I would share with you..

1. My absolute darling son.. Jackson who is the reason I wake in the morning and am so tired at the end of the day.. he is my light and my life..I love him so much.. he is a sweety but a master mind..

2. My husband who has to put up with alot but dishes alot.. he is my best friends, he is my eternal companion and my cute better half... he is Jackson's buddy, playmate and very much his role model. He has a good personality and is rather a delight to listen to and be around... I love him very very much and so very very grateful to him.

3. Our health..even though I have had a lot of things happen to me (ie brain surgery twice, voice box nerve damage) to name a couple that has not been fair but thanks to my boys and my family for supporting me and being there for me.

4. My mom and dad for the great love and support they have shown me my whole life and shown Richard for 11 years and Jackson since the second we knew I was pregnant... The honesty and big hearts they have shown us and instilled in me.. For the hardworkers that they are.... and the unconditional love they have for us.. I love them so much and I am very thankful and blessed to have such good parents..

5. My sister, jason and my cute cute little nephew Christian who is also the light of my life.. I love that little boy like my own..and my sister my only sibling andI am blessed to have her share a career with me to be there the second I call her no matter whatmy texting buddy .. all in all my one and only sister.. I love her..

6. My job.. an each emt who I am so glad I get to run with and spend my time away from home

with.. they are truely my second home.., For John Wegener for without him our agency would not fully fuction..for the friendship they each have shown me..and my family.. there

is not another agency I would rather run with.. I am so thankful for them.

7. Our cars, our home, our pets, our clothes, our food.. because without this... life would be impossible.. they are the luxuries we enjoy but necessities we can't live without...

8. Our friends.. I have a friend in Heber city that I would not know what I would ever do without.. she took me in when I worked at Utah Valley and is so supportive...lends and ear, a shoulder and sometimes tears...I love tiffany so much and miss seeing her every day... For our friends in Price that we are so happy for.. and for our friends around here..

9. I am thankful and grateful to wake up every morning and know that today no matter what happens...everything will be fine at the end of it.. for I have loved ones that care about me and I care about them.

10. And last for now music, television and cell phones, they make my day easier and sometimes happier

My visitor last night

Last night while cooking dinner Richard opened the window a bit because it was so hot in my house. I was cooking a whole thanksgiving dinner.. I guess you can never get enough turkey... anyway while I was making the stuffing I looked in time to see Chevy lift the window with his big nose and huge paws.. if we don't open the window we will jump on it and wave and scratch at it until I get nervous that he will break it so I open it.. believe me we have had had visitors that think he is possessed when actually he is really spoiled.. but so while I cooked and talked to him he hung out like that the whole time.. he is so cute.. then when it was time to put the window down he started to bark (see video) and running around I guess he was mad that he didn't get any turkey.. we even put Oakley out there (the white one) and they were so mad.. so after we ate and brought Oakley in we let Chevy and Cheyenne have our left overs from our plates.. I guess that is some of the simple things that make us laugh..

This morning while I was getting ready my dogs were barking and I could here a cow bell.... At first I wondered what in the world is going on.. so I ran to the window to see a whole herd of sheep, sheep dogs, sheepherders, horses and of course the sheep trailer going down my road.. I was kinda shocked so I grabbed my camera.. but by the time I made it outside to snap a good picture they were already down the road a bit.. but it is still noticeable and of course.. we will remember it because they left nice dropping all over my road.. which is so nice for the kids getting off the bus.. anyway just wanted to share my "HOLY COW" moment rather "HOLY SHEEP" moment.

My sister Jessica's little boy is such a little sweet heart. He is now 6 years old, but I have added a photo from 02/2007 (4 yrs old) from when we picked up our new and latest St. Bernard. We had a st. Bernard that was poisoned and we ended up putting him down.. anyway when we went to get Chevy we took Christian with and well he got really attached to the puppy.. he loves him. Christian is a total sweetheart..and he is all boy.. He is my cute little "chitchen" when he learn to talk that is how he would say his name.. he always called Richard "swisherd" so both names have lingered with him.. I had not seen him for about a week because Jessica and I have both been really busy and when I saw him today his little eyes lit up.. I really do love this little boy as if he was my own..and those who know me.. know I love kids.. so I went for a ride with Jessica and got a drink and just enjoyed my afternoon with them.. about 20 minutes ago she sent me this pix of him on a horse.. and it is so cute.. I asked her if I could put it on here and so when she said yes I was glad.. apparently he went to a relatives house and they let him ride it.. cute huh.. Christian is in Kindergarten and I think he enjoys it.. He rides the bus from Mayfield to school and some days he comes here just depends.. Thanks to my sister and her husband for raising this cute little boy who I love so much.

Jared got home about a year earlier than Richard and got married...about 12 years later he got divorced and now married a really nice girl.. we could not be happier for them. We arrived late Friday night to their house. They had BBQ elk and deer steaks (which was so yummy).. it was so fun.. We got to play with their kids (we had met with Jared and his ex wife a few times in the past so we were familiar with his kids) and I got totally attached to Jared's youngest Carson.. (seen with me in the picture) ..that I did not want to go home. Later that evening another missionary companion Jason Child's arrived with his wife and 2 kids.. who are also adorable.. and luckily Jared's, Becky's,Jason's and our kids all got along and were quite a bit the same age. So we stayed up Friday night just talking and getting to know everyone a little better and of course the 3 men reminiscing of the old days in the West Virginia and Ohio (where they all served).. They were so funny to listen to and watch them interact.. and of course I had questions about Richard like.. did you ever wake him up and get swung at?? did he tease you guys?? It is kinda of funny how they still remember it like it was yesterday.. Jared went into law enforcement as did Richard. It was so fun. Saturday we got up and helped with the kids and just really enjoyed being a part of Jared and Becky's big day. Their ceremony was beautiful.. Becky is so pretty and her dress was amazing and then when they looked into each others eyes you could see how much they love each other. After the ceremony and luncheon we got to take cute Carson and go for a little ride where we took Jackson and met Jason and his family at a little playground and let the kids run and get the energy out of them.. then we headed back to Jared and Becky's and hung out with them for a little then went to the reception and then came home. We had such a great time. We are so happy for Jared and Becky and hope to get to go back there and hopefully they will come here. I am sure we will all stay in touch. We are just so happy for them and wish them the best.

Tonight Richard and I and a bunch of third graders parents, relatives and friends attended the Gunnison Valley Elementary for an amazing program. I was amazed at what a terrific job these 8 year olds done. They had flags that waved, they done some sign language, and sang their little hearts out. I was so proud of them and at one moment I was teary eyed. They turned off the lights and sang a song and waved their flashlights....it was so good. Someone had put together a slideshow of all the relatives to the kids that were veterans, currently serving or home. Anybody who knows Gunnison Elementary will know when I say STANDING ROOM only and pushing it at that.. We video taped it and I took pictures.. so as soon as I figure out how to work my camera and download videos... I will put them here.. My little Jackson has been practicing all week and running around turning out the lights and then swirling his flashlight like a spaz... he has sang patriotic songs for a week and today freaked out at the last minute when he could not find a plain red shirt.. thanks goodness we had one.. how fun it is.. :)

My Hero, My Dad

Well again sitting here messing around with my blog
I ran across a background.. November is Diabetes
month. We all probably know someone with Diabetes
or we may have Diabetes. So today I decided to share my
story about the person I love more than anybody...my
cute dad. My dad can see around corners and I swear he has
eyes in the back of his head. Everywhere we go, he knows
somebody. He is fantastic. He drives truck and has since
before I was born.. there is one song that I used to listen to
when I was a kid and that was "Daddy's hands". My dad
is a very very hard worker, great provider, awesome
grandpa, perfect father in law and most of all my dad, my
hero. My dads life started in Salina where he was the typical
boy in the late 60's-early 70's. He always owned the quickest, baddest muscle car.. and nothing much has changed he enjoys his toys and deserves them...

But the whole reason I am blogging about this, its something close to my heart. January 2003 my dad was diagnosed with Diabetes. There is no cure. He takes meds and controls it with diet. Thanks to my mom for ensuring that he eats
right and gets what he needs... As a granddaughter of
a Diabetic person and now a daughter of a Diabetic
person it worries me and worries me about my son.
Richards mom had Diabetes, she was on insulin and
very uncontrolled. So if it skips a generation my son
has no chance against it. This disease can attack anyone
young, old, male, female. So what are we doing?? Richard
and I are getting education about Diabetes. We eat healthier.
We exercise often. So if we get it.. maybe we will be
prepared.

I have gotten into listening to books on tape and I ran across one that I read a bit ago... Sams letters to Jen.. by James Patterson.. It is an incredible book.. I ran across it when it was recommended to me a few years ago.. I have read it several times..I would recommend everyone to read it.

While sitting here today while Richard was to work
and Jackson was to school I thought how much
these to mean so much to me. And how much
alike they are. They are very devious in all
honesty. If Richard is out working on a car, or just
flat our tinkering..no matter what Jackson is
right out next to his side... it is more than cute
but at time obnoxious. But these two mean
the world to me. They laugh alot, tease me which
is their absolute favorite thing. I have to by pink
socks or they steal them and wear them to tease
me. But most of all I am so glad they get along so well. I love them with my whole heart.

Wow how time flies.. can't believe this year is nearly over... This summer has been so crazy.. Jackson spent a week in primary childrens with lymphadema in his left thigh.. so richard and I are working hard to keep the swelling down.. Jackson is in 3rd grade and loves school.. Richard is still working as a transportation officer at the prison and part time for gunnison pd.. I am still the training officer for gunnison ambulance and a coordinator for emsc and the pediatric strike team.. Life is busy, but busy is good..
